The pantry is one of the most accessed places in the entire house, so it’s important to make sure that everything has a place! Today I’m going to be sharing with you 5 ways that can help you keep your pantry organized.
.

.
Here’s an overview of the pantry. This is usually the standard size of most pantries, and I’ve made sure to use every space as functionally as possible.
.
[1] Use an over the door organizer
.
An area that is often overlooked is the door of a pantry. By simply hanging an over the door organizer (no drilling necessary!), you can create ample space for cans and condiments in an area that was previously unusable. These over the door pantry organizers can be found on Amazon at an affordable price.

.
[2] Store like items in bins
.
Something I like to do is compartmentalize like items in bins or shelves. This helps to keep the chaos at bay when you fill up your pantry after a grocery trip – everything has a home. The thing you need to decide next on is whether to keep clear or opaque bins. Clear bins are great for seeing everything at a glance right when you open your pantry, but the contents need to be well organized inside if you want it to look orderly. With opaque bins, it takes a while longer to find something, but the contents of the bins themselves don’t have to be lined up properly at all times for the pantry to look tidy. I personally have a mix of both opaque and clear bins in my pantry.
.
[3] Label containers
.
More than for yourself, this is a great way for your family members to help with the upkeep of maintaining your pantry. After all, it’s a group effort after the initial organizing! There are many different ways to label your containers. Sharpie and stickers, hanging tags, vinyl stickers, chalkboard tags, drawing images etc.You can go with whatever style suits your home!

[4] Use every space of your pantry
.
Just like using the door of the pantry to store so many items, don’t forget to utilize the wall and floor space wisely. On the small space I had on the wall, I attached an organizer that keeps aluminum foil, ziploc bags and the like neatly stored and out of the way. For the empty floor space, I bought two rolling carts to maximize the space to its full extent, and decided to keep all of the kids snacks in this area.
.

.
[5] Take individual snack packets out of boxes
.
Self serve stations are a great way to help your child become more independent. I keep fruits in the bottom drawer of the fridge, and snacks at the bottom shelf of the pantry so that it’s at their eye level. Emptying the large boxes that these snacks come in helps for quick and easy access for your kids or for you when you’re packing lunches for the kids. It also looks more aesthetically pleasing and takes up far less space! It’s a win from all angles 🙂
